The Field Museum’s highly anticipated Tattoo exhibition, which runs from October 21 until April 30, 2017, unpacks the stigma body art by showing the lengthy history of getting inked across cultures, featuring 170 objects supplemented by artifacts from The Field’s permanent collection. You might even get a look at a tattooed mummy. The best feature? An in-house tattoo parlor. Although this interactive is now completely booked (shocker), you can still watch other patrons getting tattooed, which is conveniently creepy. Those with and without ink will enjoy this clever exploration of human creativity.
