Twenty-seven gardens and four natural areas make up this living museum and conservation site, including the Japanese Garden (complete with its three traditional islands), the English Walled Garden, a world famous Bonsai collection, and Dixon Prairie – an awe-inspiring place that transports visitors back to the original Illinois grasslands with some plants growing over eight feet tall! Follow the saga of the Garden’s titan arum collection: A.K.A. the corpse flower –– these blooms are some of the largest, and stinkiest, on earth. The gardens are open until 7pm from December 16 through January 2nd, and with over 385 acres to explore, bring your special someone and stay-cation at one of the most magical spots in Chicagoland.
